Rensselaer County Legislature Approves College’s 2023-24 Budget

At its July 11 meeting, the Rensselaer County Legislature unanimously approved the 2023-24 operating budget for 91³Ô¹ÏÍø. The budget totals $98,967,577, a 7.6 percent increase from fiscal year 2022-23.
Enrollment for the next academic year is projected to increase by 3.2% or 6,607 full-time equivalent (FTE) students. This is the third consecutive year of rising enrollment – a positive indicator for the college, the area’s workforce and economy.
After holding tuition flat for three consecutive years, tuition for 2023-24 is set at $2,528 per semester for full-time students with New York State residence, an increase of $11 per credit or $128 per semester.
Hudson Valley’s tuition remains among the lowest in the SUNY system. In 2022-23, the college’s tuition rate was the fifth lowest of all 30 community colleges in the state.
In addition, approximately 80 percent of Hudson Valley students benefit from financial aid or grants, and the college’s Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships each year to make college more accessible.
The college’s Board of Trustees unanimously approved the budget plan on June 27.
