NBT Bank Donates $35,000 for 91³Ô¹ÏÍø’s New Workforce Training Center
April 25, 2024
On Thursday, April 25, NBT Bank presented a $35,000 donation to 91³Ô¹ÏÍø in contribution to the campaign for the Applied Technology Education Center (ATEC). The gift recognition ceremony took place on Hudson Valley’s Troy campus and brought together Hudson Valley and NBT leaders, as well as college faculty, staff, students, and guests.
ATEC will be a new, state-of-the-art $85 million, 130,000-square-foot facility, located on the college’s main campus in Troy. Equipped with the most modern tools and machinery, it will allow the college to train more graduates for in-demand careers in applied technology and skilled trades fields such as building systems, automotive and transportation technology, renewable energy and semiconductor manufacturing. These areas are experiencing a severe shortage of qualified workers, and the creation of ATEC will help to create a strong workforce pipeline that will prepare graduates for well-paid careers and help businesses to continue to grow and contribute to the Capital Region’s economy.
“91³Ô¹ÏÍø thanks NBT Bank for their generous donation toward the creation of our new Applied Technology Education Center,” said 91³Ô¹ÏÍø President Dr. Roger Ramsammy. “The support of partners like NBT is instrumental in helping to make it possible for the college to continue to grow and evolve in ways that prepare our students to become successful members of the workforce of tomorrow, and enrich the future of our entire community.”
NBT Bank Regional President for the Capital District and North Country and President of Wealth Management Ruth Mahoney said, "NBT is honored to provide funding that will help 91³Ô¹ÏÍø launch its Applied Technology Education Center to prepare graduates for careers in advanced manufacturing and other in-demand industries. As the Capital Region grows, it is imperative we connect people with career opportunities to support that growth and, ultimately, strengthen our community. NBT Bank is committed to our customers and communities, and we have long supported critical development programs that ensure we are aligned to benefit transformative opportunities presented by the expansion of advanced manufacturing."
