91³Ô¹ÏÍø was again designated a Military Friendly® School for 2025. The , produced by Viqtory, recognizes the top colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and to ensure their success on campus.

Originally established as the Veterans Vocational School, Hudson Valley has a long tradition of assisting active duty personnel and veterans with benefits, counseling and academic advisement. The college now educates more than 400 student veterans each year and offers transfer credit for military experience, scholarships, tuition deferrals, dedicated study space, mentors, a student Armed Forces Club and a host of other services.

The college’s Veterans Resource and Outreach Center (VET-ROC), launched ahead of the Fall 2021 semester, is the focal point for veterans and the military-connected community on campus. Located on the first floor of the campus center, it also houses the PFC Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer Support Program of Rensselaer County, which offers non-clinical peer-to-peer support for any Rensselaer County veteran and works to help all Capital Region veterans reintegrate into civilian society.

“91³Ô¹ÏÍø was originally founded in 1953 to serve veterans returning from World War II and the Korean War, and for more than 70 years, we have continued to take pride in our commitment to creating a welcoming place for veterans and active duty service members to pursue higher education,” said 91³Ô¹ÏÍø Officer in Charge Louis Coplin. “Since 2021, the college has also housed the Rensselaer County Veteran Resource and Outreach Center, which has made our campus even more of a hub for veteran support in the county.”

The Military Friendly® Schools list sets the standard for higher education institutions to provide the best opportunities for veterans and their spouses. Institutions earning the designation were evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school. More than 1,700 schools participate in the annual survey to determine Military Friendly® designees. Hudson Valley earned a silver award designation for its commitment to the military connected community.
