Veterans Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Training Program
The Veterans A&P Training Program helps prepare military aviation technicians complete the written, oral and practical examinations to obtain their FAA Mechanic Certificate with Airframe and Powerplant ratings.
Program Highlights
- Nine-week, part-time, evening program
- Closes the gaps between a military aviation technician's educational backgrounds, training and experience and eligibility requirements for the FAA
- Designed by veterans for veterans
Program Prerequisites
- DD 214; or military orders; or course completion certificate awarding an aviation MOS
- Signed letter of recommendation from a commander attesting to the service members aviation experience (sample letter available)
- Completed FAA Form 8610 signed by the FAA authorizing a service member to take the requisite written, oral and practical examinations for airframe and/or powerplant
Program Content
- Detailed review and preparation of the questions for the general, airframe and powerplant written examinations
- Review of all potential oral topics and practical projects which may be on the oral and practical examination for the airframe and powerplant ratings
- Interactive and individually focused training by experienced military veteran instructors
