Travel Policy
All of the travel policies listed below are strictly enforced. If any student or non-student disobeys these policies, he/she will be banned from any future Student Senate sponsored trips. Further administrative and/or legal action may be applied.
- No coolers are allowed.
- No smoking is allowed during transportation.
- No alcohol is allowed. All bags will be inspected for alcohol.
- All students and/or non-students must present state or federal government issued photo identification and receipt of payment to board the vehicle.
If any of the rules mentioned above are violated, you will be turned away on the spot.
Any student and/or non-student will be banned from all Student Senate sponsored trips if they:
- Decide to return to Hudson Valley with a different ride other than the Student Senate sponsored transportation.
- Aid in the sheltering of persons who did not pay and/or travel from Hudson Valley to the destination on the required transportation.
- Are caught with drugs or arrested for any reason during your trip. You will be left in the hands of authorities. 91勛圖厙 and the Student Senate will not be held liable for any student and/or non-student who have been put in the hands of authorities.
- Show disrespect toward other travelers, student representatives, or the chaperone(s) by way of their actions OR disruptive and/or inappropriate language.
- Disobey hotel policies. All travelers must respect other hotel patrons. No loitering in the hotel hallways. Disciplinary action will be taken for disturbing the peace after quiet hours.
- Cause damage and/or incur charges for damages done to their assigned hotel room. 91勛圖厙 and the Student Senate will not be held liable for any damages. The student and/or non-student will be held liable for any damage that is done to their assigned room.
All Student Senate sponsored trips and events are NON-REFUNDABLE unless cancelled by the Student Activities Office. However, if you have an emergency and cannot attend the trip or event, you may be able to get a refund if the Student Activities Office can sell your ticket. You must come to the Student Activities Office at least four business days prior to the trip or event with the original receipt to attempt to sell your ticket. Absolutely no changes will be made three business days prior to the trip or event.
Identification
Proper identification issued by a state or federal agency is required to travel.
Travel within the United States: Photo identification issued by a state or federal agency and your receipt of payment is required on all trips.
Travel to Canada: All travelers must be at least 18 years of age. Photo identification issued by a state or federal agency and an original birth certificate issued by a federal agency (no photo copies will be accepted) or a valid passport will be accepted.
Travel to other countries: A valid passport may be required. If not, then travelers must provide photo identification issued by a state or federal agency and an original birth certificate issued by a federal agency (no photo copies will be accepted).
Non-U.S. Citizens: Any traveler who is not a United States citizen is required to speak to Jay Deitchman, the advisor of the International Students, regarding proper identification when traveling outside of the United States. Please call (518) 629-7567 for more information.
All travelers are subject to immigration laws and/or restrictions of designated country, including possible restrictions against students with prior criminal conviction(s) and/or pending convictions.
