Desktop Videoconferencing Using Skype for Business Instructions
These instructions help illustrate how to use videoconference technology using Skype for Business on a desktop.
Connecting to the Videoconference
- . Specify device you want to install software and follow installation directions.
- Once software is installed, enter your Office 365 username and password to sign in.
- In Search for Contacts field, type conference information provided by Technician (ie. abc123@video.hvcc.edu)
- Click conference number that appears and click camera icon to dial into the conference.
- Once connected, you will see participants if they joined prior to your connection.
- If necessary, to change your audio/video settings, move mouse anywhere over the conference and select the cog icon located in the upper-right corner.
- To share your screen with participants, move mouse anywhere over conference and click the share screen icon located at the bottom of the screen. Click share screen.
Controls When Connected to the Conference
- If the video icon is blue and the user sees picture-in-picture, the video is unmuted and participants can see the user.
- Click the camera icon to send/stop sending video to participants. If the video icon is black and picture-in-picture is minimized, the video is muted and participants cannot see the user.
- Click the microphone icon to mute/unmute. When muted, the icon is black. When the icon is blue, the microphone is live and participants can hear the user.
